Gosh how time is flying. The end of January tomorrow. I remember when I was young(er) that the end of January was always exciting and scary, with the start of the school year. It was always great to start a new book at school, a nice crisp clean page. I would always promise myself that I would do my homework that year and that I wouldn't leave things to the last minute. Of course, by the start of March my book looked like it had see the worse side of my lunch box, my writing was illegible and my first assignment was due the next week and I hadn't even been to the library to get the correct research books.
The end of January is also the beginning of the birthday season. My mum has a really BIG day tomorrow and how I wish I was there to celebrate with her. There may be the number 6 and a zero in there somewhere. Mum you don't look like you aged since you were a four and zero. Have a "Happy Birthday" and spoilt yourself rotten. Go for a nice pamper session and have some lovely blue cod for dinner with a pav to finish it off. Now I am making myself wish I was there just for dinner...
In other exciting news, Reece and I are in the process of purchasing our first home. I guess I am not so nervous as much as impatient, as I wish the process would go faster because I want to hurry up and move in, so we can play with our "new" toy. I want to see if I can master the art of a paint roller and sewing machine. I also want to try stencilling walls, though my artistic side favours stick figures and I failed colouring in 101 at uni (only my 'craft room' Reece, I promise to 'try' and make a mess of your 'office').
If any of you have been following the weather for my current location, you will have noticed that we reached beyond 40 degrees everyday last week. I can tell you that I am seriously a cold-climate person and that knitting is not really a hot climate pastime. I know that I haven't completed any knitting for a while but I am hoping to turn that around. No pictures just yet, but I can tell you that there will be knitting related pictures in the very near future.
